Organic Flows II – Original Oil Painting on Linen

The first colours of spring

Organic Flows II is the third work in my evolving Organic Flows series, where I continue to explore nature’s elements, changing seasons and the subtle shifts of the Nordic landscape.

In this work, spring moves into the foreground. Crisp, vivid greens emerge across the canvas, shifting from bright, almost luminous tones to deeper shades of green. For me, they evoke those first moments of spring when the first delicate greenery appears and nature begins to awaken, filling the landscape with new colour and life.

Water and earth remain present within the composition, connecting the work to the recurring elements of the series. Antique gold adds warmth and depth, while the rich copper tones associated with autumn earth and fallen leaves in the first Organic Flows painting have disappeared. The changing palette reflects the transition of the seasons and allows a different character of nature to emerge.

As throughout the Organic Flows series, these impressions are not intended as literal depictions of the landscape. They are transformed through colour, texture and flowing, sculptural forms – an abstract language shaped by my encounters with nature and by the colours and shifting light of the Nordic landscape.
