Organic Flows – Original Oil Painting on Linen

Where nature becomes form

Organic Flows is the first work in an evolving series inspired by the elements and rhythms of nature, and by the colours and subtle shifts of the Nordic landscape. Water, earth and woodland, together with the changing character of the seasons, form a recurring source of inspiration throughout the series.

Throughout the series, I explore these impressions through organic, sculptural forms. Rather than depicting nature literally, I allow colours, textures and flowing shapes to carry memories of landscapes, light and natural processes onto the canvas.

In this first work, the palette includes Klein blue, green, shifting shades of violet and purple, antique gold and copper. The colours carry associations with the natural world – blue with water, green with the forest and vegetation, while the warmer metallic tones evoke earth and the changing seasons.

The painting carries a subtle sense of Nordic autumn. Part of its palette was inspired by wooded slopes at Royal Djurgården and Haga Park in Stockholm, where fallen leaves gather across the ground in shifting tones that can appear almost copper-like.

The violet and purple tones are connected to another impression of Nordic autumn – the colours I experience in the evening sky. As the sun sets, the fading light can shift through beautiful shades of violet, purple and pink, creating a fleeting palette that has become part of my visual memory of the season.

Through these colours and organic forms, impressions of water, forest, earth and changing light meet and flow into one another. The painting does not depict a particular landscape; instead, it transforms memories and sensations of nature into something more abstract, tactile and sculptural.

Organic Flows is an ongoing series, with new works continuing to evolve. My vision is ultimately to present the paintings together as a complete body of work, in dialogue with sculptural forms
