Original mixed media diptych, 2026
Gouache and watercolour on black artist paper
Diptych – two panels, each 29.7 × 42 cm
Combined image size: 59.4 × 42 cm
Unframed. Framing is not included.
Painted across two adjoining sheets of black artist paper, Where the Light Breaks Through explores the tension between darkness, colour and movement. Vivid layers of turquoise, blue, yellow and red emerge from the black ground, creating an energetic composition with impressions of urban structures, reflections and organic forms.
The work moves between the urban and the organic — fragments of colour, lines and forms appear, disappear and overlap, creating an almost electric sense of movement across the dark surface.
The original composition was created as one continuous image across the two adjoining sheets. The panels are therefore marked Left Panel and Right Panel on the reverse and belong together as one original artwork.
For framing, the two panels can preferably be placed together, allowing the original composition to continue across both sheets. They may also be displayed with a small space between them, depending on the setting and personal preference.
